Mr. Dalyell

asked the Minister for Trade what have been the positions held by each of the representatives of British business who have accompanied Ministers of his Department in the last two years on official visits to South American countries.

[pursuant to his reply, 29 November 1982, c. 62]: In July 1981 the following accompanied the then Minister for Trade to Peru and Colombia: Mr. A. Shipp, Director, Samuel Montagu. Mr. D. Holland, Chairman and Managing Director, Balfour Beatty Ltd. Mr. A. Henderson, Chairman, The Henderson Busby Partnership. Mr. P. Brauner CBE, Chairman, Hill Samuel Developments. Mr. K. Sidey, Business Development Manager, Tarmac International Ltd. Mr. C. Armstrong, Director, Inchcape International.

In September this year the following accompanied me to Chile, Paraguay and Ecuador: Mr. B. Norman, Director, Lazard Brothers & Co. Ltd. Mr. A. Tabbush, Regional Manager, GKN. Mr. E. Loewy, Partner, Sir William Halcrow & Partners. Mr. I. R. Piette, Regional Director, Group Exports, GEC. Mr. K. Odell, Director, Balfour Beatty Ltd.

The following also joined this mission: Mr. D. Barber, General Manager and Director, Lamport and Holt in Paraguay; Mr. K. Sidey, Tarmac, in Chile and Ecuador; and Mr. C. Armstrong, Inchcape in Ecuador.
