Friend announced yesterday that we have decided to make funds available to continue the work of the unit while we await the results of research into the effectiveness of various methods of breast cancer screening.

§ Mr. FowlerThe average cost for each attendance at the early diagnostic unit at the Royal Marsden hospital is £20. There is no reliable figure available for the average cost of breast screening at an outpatient clinic.
