Mr. Proctor

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland pursuant to the reply by the hon. Member for Oxford (Mr. Patten) to the hon. Member for Basildon of 22 November, Official Report, c. 389, what subjects were discussed at the conference at Ditchley Park on 25 to 27 June; which political parties were represented at that conference; what contributions were made by the Earl of Gowrie and Dr. FitzGerald; and if he will make a statement.

A full report of the conference and a list of those who attended is contained in Ditchley conference report No. 5/1982, copies of which are available from the Director of the Ditchley Foundation. The contributions by individual participants are not separately identified.

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will hold discussions with the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition of the Republic of Ireland concerning the political situation in the Republic of Ireland; and if he will make a statement.
