HC Deb 30 November 1982 vol 33 c130W
66. Mr. Parris

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many National Health Service circulars were issued by his Department in the year up to 31 May 1982; and how this compares with the year ended 31 May 1979.

Mr. Geoffrey Finsberg

Records of health communications issued to the NHS are based on a year beginning from the time this Government took office. The number of multi-disciplinary and single discipline communications issued in 1981–82 was 363, of which 19 were health circulars. This compares with 880 issued in 1978–79–34 circulars—and is a reflection of the Government's continuing success in reducing health communications to the minimum necessary for the efficient conduct of business.
