HC Deb 30 November 1982 vol 33 cc147-8W
Dr. Roger Thomas

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what locations in the Principality have been considered for measures that will take heavy lorry traffic away from densely populated areas; and what means are now being used to identify areas that are particularly badly affected by heavy lorry noise and general disturbance.

Mr. Michael Roberts

The Department's primary responsibility in this respect is for the trunk road system in Wales. In considering proposals for bypasses and other improvements to the system my Department takes full account of all relevant factors, including the volume and type of traffic using the route. Proposed improvements are shown in the Welsh Office's publication "Roads in Wales", a new edition of which I expect to be published early next year.
