asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many outbreaks of sheep scab were confirmed in Scotland during the last 12 months; and what were the corresponding figures for the last 10 years.

Twelve outbreaks of sheep scab were confirmed in Scotland during the 12 months ended 31 October 1982. During corresponding periods in the previous 10 years, the numbers of outbreaks were:
