§ Mr. Bruce-GardyneReceipts from the excise duties on matches and mechanical lighters were £16.4 million (provisional) in 1981–82, £6.8 million more than in 1980–81. In the current financial year, by end-October receipts amounted to £9.8 million (provisional).
