HC Deb 29 November 1982 vol 33 c46W
Mr. Farr

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will introduce a bounty scheme to encourage the eradication of coypus and mink.

Mrs. Fenner

No. Experience from comparable arrangements for squirrel and fox control in the 1950s suggests that a bounty scheme would not contribute significantly towards present policies for the eradication of coypus and the control of wild mink, would not be cost-effective, and could encourage the taking of these species other than by recommended methods.
