asked the Minister for Trade whether he is satisfied with the operation of the legislation which protects the copyright of taped musical performances from infringement by individual citizens recording for their private use.

Dr. Vaughan

No. The Government are very much aware of the problems in this field and are anxious to solve them. We have yet to find a satisfactory solution. Meanwhile, where commercial abuses take place we are urging that court action should be taken when necessary.
