Recharges from general administration to other services of £1,487 million are included within the figures for other services. Information about other expenditure on administrative functions, included within the service totals, is not separately identifiable.

Equivalent information for each local authority in England could not be produced except at disproportionate cost. Some statistics for individual local authorities are given in Local Government Comparative Statistics 1982, published by the CIPFA.
