§ Mr. Skeetasked the Secretary of State for Transport if he will list the towns in (a) the east of England and (b) England with a population exceeding 100,000 and bisected by two major trunk routes that have not as yet been bypassed.
§ Mrs. ChalkerThe only such town in England is Ipswich, for which bypass schemes are well advanced. Although several other towns with over 100,000 population are served by more than one trunk road, for historical reasons these roads are not trunked within the old county borough boundaries.
