§ Mr. Dalyellasked the Secretary of State for Defence whether there are any agreements or undertakings between his Department and the National Union of Seamen about the information given to crew members as to destinations of Royal Fleet Auxiliaries and the likely duration of voyages.
§ Mr. WigginThere are no separate agreements between my Department and the National Union of Seamen regarding the provision of this information. Subject to any security requirements the Master of an RFA mormally announces the ship's programme at the beginning of a voyage but he will also remind the ship's company that the programme may need to be changed for operational reasons.
