§ Mr. Dubsasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many psychologists are employed by the prison department; and what are their responsibilities.
§ Mr. MayhewEighty-six psychologists are employed by the prison department. Their responsibilities are:
- (i) to assist in the management of problem cases by means of assessment and treatment;
- (ii) to design, develop and evaluate treatment and training methods;
- (iii) to assist with the design of staff training courses and the support of staff;
- (iv) other services to management including advice on organisational development and design of management information systems;
- (v) research.
