HC Deb 19 November 1982 vol 32 cc294-5W
Sir Anthony Meyer

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will list the total disbursements of grants to the United Kingdom from the European Community since 1973 under each main heading of expenditure.

Mr. Ridley

The information requested is given in the following table:

full supplement of 2.4 per cent. on any contract in force on 30 November 1982 and not repaid by 30 November 1983. The supplement will be calculated on the index-linked value of the contract at 30 November 1982, including the seven year bonus if this has been earned by that date.

There will also be a supplement for contributions between 1 December 1982 and 31 October 1983 These can qualify for 0.2 per cent. on the cash value for each whole calendar month up to the end of November 1983. This supplement will apply both to existing and to new contracts.

These supplements will be indexed monthly, with effect from 1 December 1983, and added to the value of the contract on repayment. Savers can qualify for the supplements if they earn index-linking. To do this they need to complete their 60 monthly payments, or extend the contract under the seven year extension terms. Supplements will be payable only when contracts are repaid after the end of November 1983.
