Members to question him on the activities and actions of the Metropolitan Police, especially where complaints are made regarding its accountability to the taxpayers' representatives.
§ Mr. WhitelawI am always willing to answer questions from hon. Members on matters within my Departmental responsibility except on certain subjects where it is not in the public interest to do so. Whether or292W not a particular proposed question is in order is not of course a matter for me. I have indicated that, in addition to existing arrangements, I am ready to meet groups of hon. Members representing constituencies within the Metropolitan Police district to discuss matters relating to the Metropolitan Police.
