§ 30. Mr. Grimondasked the Secretary of State for Scotland when he expects to be able to give full details of the licences for fishing in the Shetland box as recently agreed.
§ Mr. YoungerIf the proposals for a revised common fisheries policy agreed by nine member States are accepted by Denmark, the north of Scotland preference box and the detailed rules for licensing will be introduced by European Community regulations. If there is no agreed common fisheries policy, we shall introduce the box by way of national measures approved by the European Commission. The timing of these moves will depend on developments in future Community discussions.
