§ Mr. MayhewPart I of the Criminal Justice Act 1982 makes substantial changes to the provisions governing the sentencing and treatment of young offenders. We envisage the implementation of this part of the Act in the course of next year, as soon as the appropriate preparations have been made and resources provided where necessary.
