Mr. Austin Mitchell

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he will publish in the Official Report a table showing the estimated total payments by (a) employees, (b) employers and (c) the self-employed in national insurance contributions in 1982–83, including as separate items (i) national insurance surcharge and (ii) pension contributions for those not contracted out.

On the basis of the estimates for 1982–83 contained in the report by the Government Actuary on the draft of the Social Security (Contributions, Re-rating) Order 1982 (Cmnd. 8742) the following is the information requested:

No part of the contribution is specifically allocated as a pension contribution.
