HC Deb 11 November 1982 vol 31 c226W
Mr. Eggar

asked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will list the occasions on which his Department has used from outside the Civil Service (a) accountants, (b) management consultants and (c) other consultants since June 1979, giving in each case the dates and nature of the assignment, together with the names of the individuals, partnerships or institutions involved.

Mr. Waddington

My Department has not used accountants or management consultants from outside the Civil Service on projects since June 1979. My computer branch has used other consultants on two occasions. The first study by GD Ball Computer Services was undertaken in April 1980 and was a performance review of the Runcorn computer installation. The second by Arthur Young McLelland Moores took place for 50 days during 1979 and 1980 and was an evaluation of the feasibility of computer-produced unemployment figures.
