§ Mr. SproatThe first phase of the public inquiries into BAA's outline planning application to develop Stansted airport and various related proposals was held at Quendon Hall in Essex and has recently been completed. The inspector also has before him a related planning application from Uttlesford district council for the proposed development of a fifth terminal at Heathrow as an alternative to development at Stansted. The inquiries will therefore reopen in January 1983 at the Crest hotel, Heathrow. This second and final phase is expected to last for about six months.
