Whether, in answering the noble Lord, Lord Paget, on 26th May 1982, the noble Viscount, Lord Trenchard, was indicating any change in the present arrangements governing political control of the conduct of the Falklands operations, specifically with regard to a possible attack on mainland Argentina.

No, my Lords. I did not intend to indicate any change in political control over the Rules of Engagement in any respect.
