§ Lord Allen of Abbeydaleasked Her Majesty's Government:
How many local and parochial charities having a permanent endowment are registered with the Charity Commissioners in each of the following three groups as classified in the Pemsel case: charities for (a) the relief of poverty; (b) the advancement of education; and (c) other purposes beneficial to the community.
§ Lord EltonNo distinction is made in the register between charities having a permanent endowment and those which have none. This information could be obtained only by examining the individual deeds, the cost of which would be disproportionate.
