Mr. Ron Brown (Leith)asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department why Abdul Kayyum Bhutt, a Pakistani politician, was refused political asylum on 24 May 1982 and ordered to leave the country before representations could be made on his behalf.
§ Mr. RaisonWe considered that the United Kingdom was not the appropriate country of asylum for Mr. Bhutt and accordingly directed his removal to Malta on the next available flight.
