On 15 April 1982, 1,035 young people under the age of 18 years, 303 young people aged 18 years and 273 people aged 19 and over who had not been in employment since completing full-time education were registered as unemployed in Dundee. Because information is not available for the year in which these people left school, it is not possible to express the numbers registered as a meaningful percentage of the total number of school leavers.
