HC Deb 17 May 1982 vol 24 c46W
Mrs. Knight

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will seek to raise the level of pension income from private firms" pension schemes which may be received by an individual without affecting entitlement to unemployment benefit.

Mr. Rossi

The present limit of £35, above which an occupational pension reduces the amount of unemployment benefit payable to a person aged 60 or over, has been in operation for just over a year. We shall be considering whether the limit should be amended in the light of information received about the operation of the abatement provisions, but I cannot say at this stage when any change would take place.
