HC Deb 12 May 1982 vol 23 cc265-6W
Mr. Mason

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will list the harmonisation agreements that have been established between the United Kingdom and the EEC, collectively and individually, since the United Kingdom signed the Treaty of Accession.

Mr. Rifkind

All European Community harmonisation measures are published in theOfficial Journal of the European Communities. The largest group of agreements are those directives, adopted under article 100 of the Treaty, which are intended to eliminate technical barriers to Trade. Parliament, through the scrutiny procedure, is given an opportunity to study such directives before their adoption. All such directives are listed in the 23 April 1982 edition of British Business, published by the Departments of Trade and Industry. I am sending a copy to the right hon. Gentleman, marked to indicate the directives already adopted.

Mr. Peter Walker

The information has not yet been obtained from the Commission.
