§ Mr. WhitelawI am satisfied that the provisions of the Wireless Telegraphy Acts 1949 and 1967, and the relevant subordinate legislation, provide adequate powers to prohibit the use of radio for aural surveillance and the importation and manufacture of radio surveillance equipment operating between frequencies 88 and 108 MHz. The Government intend, when parliamentary time permits, to introduce legislation providing for the prohibition of the sale or advertising of such devices.
