§ Mr. Austin Mitchellasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether the figures for income of farmers and their spouses given in table 21 of Cmnd. 8491, the annual review, includes corporations and partnerships; what was the estimated number and'` profitability of such corporations and partnerships in 1981; and what proportion of the total is accounted for by spouses.
§ Mr. Buchanan-SmithTable 21 of the "Annual Review of Agriculture 1982" White Paper—Cmnd. 8491—measures the output, input and income of the industry as a whole. The farming income figure therefore includes the incomes of corporations and partnerships, hut it is not possible to apportion it between corporations and partnerships, on the one hand, and individuals, on the other, or between farmers and their spouses.
