§ Mr. Geoffrey FinsbergWe have decided that part of the site of the former Battersea general hospital, which is at present held by the Property Services Agency of the Department of the Environment, shall be transferred back to the Department of Health and Social Security which will then own the whole site. The DHSS, in consultation with the district valuer, will then arrange to allocate the approximately half an acre of the site needed for the construction of a psychiatric day hospital, and for the subsequent disposal of the remainder of the site. Any net proceeds from the sale will, of course, accrue to the benefit of the NHS and would be used to offset in whole or in part the costs of the day hospital.
