§ The Prime MinisterThe Government will be making a full reply as soon as possible. The latest manpower figures, announce yesterday, show that we now have the smallest Civil Service for 16 years. We continue to work for improved efficiency, and I am confident that the report of the Select Committee will be of considerable help.
