§ 14. Sir John Biggs-Davisonasked the Lord Privy Seal if he will make a statement about his right hon. and noble Friend's talks with the Sultan of Oman on the occasion of His Majesty's State visit.
§ Mr. HurdHis Majesty the Sultan had private talks with my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister during his visit. My right hon. and noble Friend and my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Defence each had separate talks with the Omani Minister of State for Foreign Affairs. These discussions were friendly and very successful. They showed that Her Majesty's Government and the Government of Oman have similar views on most international matters and that there is great scope for co-operation between us.
