§ Mr. Lathamasked the Lord Privy Seal which sovereign States currently claim sovereignty over the area described as the Gaza Strip, being that section of the former British mandate in Palestine which was occupied by an Egyptian military administration between 1948 and 1967 and by an Israeli military administration between 1967 and the present day; and what is the policy of Her Majesty's Government towards such claims.
§ Mr. HurdThe Government of Israel have announced their intention of raising a claim to sovereignty over Gaza at the end of the transitional period laid down in the Camp David agreements. Her Majesty's Government's policy towards this claim is governed by the principles of Security Council resolution 242.
