HL Deb 31 March 1982 vol 428 c1461WA
Lord Mackie of Benshie

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What has been the total expenditure by the Forestry Commission since 1919 on unplantable land, farm and other land, buildings and other assets; what is the total value of sales of land, etc. since 1919; and what is the current capital value of the remaining assets.

The Earl of Mansfield

Because the form of the Forestry Commission's accounts has changed six times since 1919, it is not possible to provide reliable information of past expenditure on such assets or of income from disposals. The capital value of the remaining assets as at March 1981 was £159,566,000. This excludes land under plantations and the plantations themselves.
