§ Mr. Hooleyasked the Lord Privy Seal (1) whether Her Majesty's Government will propose action by the Security Council of the United Nations to relieve tension on the borders of Nicaragua, for example by joint patrols or international observers;
(2) what stance will be taken by Her Majesty's Government in the Security Council of the United Nations towards the complaint of Nicaragua that her security is being threatened by external forces; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. LuceNicaragua has requested an urgent meeting of the Security Council. We understand that this is taking place today. This will present the Nicaraguan Government with an opportunity to raise those issues which are of concern to them, and our attitude will be decided when we have heard their case.
