§ Mr. Parryasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he has received any representations concerning the proposed Clayton Square development in Liverpool; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. HeseltineI have received a number of representations about the proposed development at Clayton Square. I understand that outline planning permission for redevelopment and refurbishment of the Clayton Square area in the centre of Liverpool was granted by the local planning authority in December 1980, subject to certain conditions which have now been met. Planning permission was issued in February of this year. The city council is assisting in consolidation of ownership and certain compulsory purchase orders on properties in the area have been made recently. These will come to me for decision, and therefore I cannot comment further.
