§ Mr. Skeetasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how much wine was in surplus at the latest date for which figures are available.
§ Mrs. FennerThere is no agreed figure for the size of the wine surplus because the market situation fluctuates widely from year to year. But the European Commission's forward estimate forecasts that 12.5 million hectolitres of wine will be distilled with Community aid in 1981–82, and this gives some idea of the current problem.
