§ Mr. Norman LamontI have met the chairman of BS three times this month. Capital investment is increasing, and I hope that this will help BS achieve the further improvements in productivity which are needed.
§ 25. Mr. John Evansasked the Secretary of State for Industry if he will make a statement on the investment plans of British Shipbuilders.
§ Mr. Norman LamontBS expects to spend £34 million in the current year and £49 million next year. I hope that this higher level of investment will help BS achieve the further improvements in productivity which are needed.
