HL Deb 15 March 1982 vol 428 c511WA
Lord Hylton

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What information they have concerning (a) murders and wounding of ex-patriate South African members of the African National Congress in Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Lesotho and elsewhere, allegedly committed with the knowledge and help of the South African authorities, and (b) South African involvement in the destruction and damage of railways, pipelines and harbour facilities in Mozambique and Angola.

Lord Carrington

Her Majesty's Government are aware of various reports and allegations. In our view, violence, no matter where or by whom, runs counter to the search for peaceful solutions to the problems of the region.
