asked the Lord President of the Council (1) if he is satisfied with the security procedures of the House;

(2) if he will ask the Services Committee to recommend procedures whereby all persons working within the precincts of the House are checked for sympathy with the Irish Republican Army.

I refer the hon. Gentleman to the answer I gave to my hon. Friend the Member for Newbury (Mr. McNair-Wilson) during Business questions on Thursday, 11 March—[Vol. 19, c. 971.] The arrangements for the security of the House are kept under constant review by the appropriate authorities.
