§ Mr. Bruce-Gardyne[pursuant to his reply, 11 March 1982, c. 495.]: I assume my hon. Friend refers to the duty-free allowances for travellers. The allowance for travellers coming from other Community countries is already £120. That for travellers coming from countries outside the Community is £28. These allowances are governed by Community legislation, and the United Kingdom cannot vary them unilaterally.
