asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what was the average annual number of people out of work in Dundee in 1979, 1980 and 1981.

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland (1) if he will provide a breakdown of the number of unemployed in Dundee by age group;

(2) if he will give a breakdown of the numbers unemployed in Dundee by standard industrial classification; and how these statistics compare with those in May 1979;

(3) how many and what percentage of those unemployed in Dundee have been out of work for the following periods: (a) up to one year, (b) between one and two years, (c) between two and three years and (d) over three years.
