§ Mrs. ChalkerIn the 1981–82 published Supply Estimates £138.5 million was provided for motorway and trunk road maintenance, within the roads cash block which450W is managed as a whole. After publication £21 million was transferred within the cash block from new construction, to facilitate urgent additional maintenance, particularly motorway reconstruction, making £159.5 million allocated in all. The latest forecast outturn is about £7 million higher, largely the result of the severe early winter weather, but this will be more than offset by reduced expenditure on other parts of the cash block.
