§ Mr. Dalyellasked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make a statement on the future of the diving school at Alverstoke and the physiological research unit.
§ Mr. WigginResearch at Alverstoke will continue but the scale of activities will be kept under review in the light of evolving naval requirements. The location of the experimental diving unit within the Portsmouth area is under study as part of the review of naval shore-based activities. It is hoped that an announcement covering this will be made soon.
