§ Mr. Wrigglesworthasked the Secretary of State for Industry what action he has taken to support the recommendations of the PA Management report prepared for the National Enterprise Board on the development of the British information technology industry.
§ Mr. Kenneth BakerThe main recommendations of the PACTEL report on IT prepared for the National Enterprise Board addressed issues which the Government have studied closely in building up their strategy for information technology in the United Kingdom. This strategy and the actions we are taking in this field are described in the paper "Response to the Electronics EDC 197W Paper on a Policy for the UK Electronics Industry: A Programme of Action" which I presented to the National Economic Development Council on 3 February.
