§ The Prime MinisterThe engineering industry is elegible for financial assistance under a wide range of schemes, including regional selective assistance and regional development grant which covers much of Scotland. To take a single important example, offers of assistance to the engineering and allied industry in Scotland under section 7 of the Industry Act since the beginning of 1981 total £32.4 million.
