HC Deb 02 March 1982 vol 19 cc116-7W
Mr. Lawrence

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether his Department requires to be notified of the intention of regional water authorities of adding fluoride to the public drinking water; and what recent notifications of such an intention he has received.

Mr. Giles Shaw

It is the practice of water undertakers who arrange fluoridation to satisfy my right hon. Friend on the technical aspects of their schemes before putting them into operation. No proposals for new fluoridation schemes are before my right hon. Friend at present, but I am aware that some are being prepared.
