§ Mr. David HowellWhether the development of the existing ferry services might cater more effectively for future cross-Channel traffic than a fixed link is one of the matters presently being studied by officials of the United Kingdom and French Governments, with help from the Dover harbour board and the ferry operators concerned. It will be one of the matters taken into account in deciding whether to proceed with a fixed link.
