§ Mr. YoungerIn 1981–82, the following sums were paid by the Departments concerned in respect of reports commissioned:
£ Scottish Development Department 436,905 Scottish Home and Health Department 128,948 Scottish Education Department 1,502,152 These figures include payments made to all outside bodies from which reports were commissioned by the Departments. Design and other work carried out by consultants, which does not involve a specific report, is not, however, included. Medical research supported by the Scottish Home and Health Department is also excluded.
