§ Mr. Canavanasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if Her Majesty's Government have any plans to help the sugar industries of the Lomé countries of the Caribbean by granting overseas aid, in view of the serious effects to their exports caused by the present sugar policy of the United States of America.
§ Mr. Neil MartenWithin the limits of the resources available, we are ready to consider requests for assistance from the Lomé countries of the Caribbean to help their sugar industries. The Governments of those countries will no doubt consider the need for such assistance along with other requests for aid and according to the priorities they wish to accord them.
