asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will set out for each of the last 15 years the proportion of fish caught in United Kingdom waters by the United Kingdom fishing industry.

Estimates of catches taken in recent years from United Kingdom waters are available to the United Kingdom fishing Departments only in respect of fish caught by British vessels and landed in the United Kingdom. The information on annual catches in the North East Atlantic published by the International Council for the Exploraton of the Sea (ICES) relates to ICES statistical areas and not to countries' fishery limits.
